Earth sweltered again in 2017: hottest year without an El Nino:
“Among extreme weather events last year, the Caribbean and the United States suffered a battering from hurricanes, the Arctic ended 2017 with the least sea ice for mid-winter and tropical coral reefs suffered from high water temperatures…”
We need climate action. Join us: climatetruth.org
It is time for all of the institutions, countries, investors and individuals who are still in the Paris Agreement to stop funding fossils – once and for all.
Journalists and scientists are both under siege, beset by accusations of fake news, self-interest, and bias. Much of this comes from coordinated attacks from powerful actors who have a vested interest in the truth remaining hidden.
In the midst of a climate crisis we must demonstrate a united front of everyday citizens, climate scientists, and frontline communities to demand that decision makers acknowledge the science that climate change is a real, human-caused, and urgent threat. We must all join together to strengthen the role of science in decision making and public policy, and hold accountable those who seek to undermine it.
Give today to power our fight ahead, and Stand Up For Science!
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker Is a Climate Criminal—And I’m Willing to Go to Jail to Say So:
“Anyone who claims to accept climate science and to take climate seriously simply cannot support building out new fossil-fuel infrastructure at this late date, locking in carbon and methane emissions for decades to come, far beyond the point at which the IPCC tells us, and the Paris Agreement affirms, we must decarbonize our energy systems. It’s an emergency situation, and at some point—as we should have long ago—we need to act like it.“
#NoKXL: Join Us In The Fight:
With a 3-2 vote, the Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued a decision that approves an alternate route for the Keystone XL pipeline through Nebraska. With this vote, the PSC chose to stand with Trump, climate change denial, and Big Oil.
This decision doesn’t change the fact that KeystoneXL will never be built. The pipeline faces numerous legal challenges, an uphill battle on economic viability, and — crucially — peaceful resistance from millions.
Take action today.
